Communication is one of the most important tools a leader has to cast a compelling vision, influence others, manage conflict, build collaboration, and gain followership.  Yet, many leaders are unaware of the critical components of effective communication, and more importantly don’t fully understand when to use each of these components.  As a result they fall back on intuitive approaches to communication in their leadership which produces unpredictable results at best.  This leads to all the problems associated with miscommunication experienced by teams and organizations.  However, by understanding the science behind great communication, leaders can be intentional in choosing the right communication approach at exactly the right time.  This intentional approach is critical to create a culture of effective communication within the organization.  Creating a Culture of Communication – The Building Blocks of Great Communication is a three hour interactive program that will:

  • Teach the primary building blocks of effective communication.
  • Provide an opportunity to practice the communication building blocks with a real time business challenge.
  • Outline next steps for taking the building blocks back to your own organization to create a culture of communication in an intentional manner.

Program participants will learn some key models, concepts, and strategies related to effective communication and then practice those strategies in an interactive coaching clinic.

  • Learn how to optimize your active listening skills
  • Understand how to effectively get the input of others
  • Know how to provide assertive direction and feedback
  • Build a culture of communication in your organization that leads to collaboration and commitment

Members of the Center for Private Business may attend this event for free. Non-Members are $50 per person. Registration is required.
